As much as I love the freedom of copywriting, it can sometimes be tough to put so much work into a website or an article and have it be anonymous (or under another’s name when serving as a ghost). When the opportunity came to write for a new endeavor called disAMR under my own name, I jumped. The growing incidence of antimicrobial resistance in all parts of the globe is a disaster on the scale of climate change. Unlike with other disease categories like cancer, the fight against AMR has been more fragmented, less understood, and far less funded. disAMR was founded to address these disparities. This article is intended to describe the breadth and scope of the problem of AMR and serve as a resource to the disAMR advocates when educating potential sponsors and investors.
